As once of the busiest streets in Edinburgh, it was essential that Check-It offered safe, high-quality scaffolding to this general works project.

This general public works project in Edinburgh required bespoke, safe and reliable scaffolding. In addition to the complications of erecting scaffolding in a busy public area, we were also required to provide a design which overcame several obstructions. This scaffolding needed to be erected over various access points, requiring bridges.
Additionally, the scaffolding couldn’t be tied to the building. Instead, it needed to be fully buttressed, meaning self-standing. As these scaffolds are typically less secure, this added an extra challenge to erecting the scaffolding, particularly in such a busy area. As the scaffolding was erected on Princes Street, Edinburgh, it couldn’t be enclosed either. To allow pedestrians access to the building and the pavement outside, the scaffolding needed to offer a wide walkthrough to prevent inconvenience.
Our scaffold erectors were also required to erect and dismantle the scaffolding at either end of the project. We had to carry out this erection and dismantling while still considering the safety and convenience of the general public.
